Sophie Gleizes

DIRECTOR-TEACHER

A school teacher for more than 15 years in the public and private sectors, I am now enthusiastically joining the team at École M in Clichy.

I have always been passionate about childhood and caring education. I draw inspiration from the various educational currents and the latest neuroscientific findings to implement in my classroom an active, positive teaching that respects the rhythm of each child.

Arts have an important place in my life and I have been practicing dance, drawing, theatre and choral singing for many years. Convinced that these practices allow you to gain self-confidence and enrich your imagination, I enjoy using my experience in these fields to offer my students artistic times and spaces for creativity.

Trained in the Makaton Method, which offers oral language support using sign language, I enjoy using sign language in my teaching by signing stories read or songs learned. I have noticed that this practice, particularly appreciated by the children because it is very playful, favours the memorization of vocabulary and reinforces their communication skills.

LINDSAY PAI

ENGLISH TEACHER

Having taught in different international schools for over 10 years, it is with great pleasure that I join the dynamic and passionate team at École M. I developed an appreciation for language and a multicultural environment at an early age, as I grew up in a bilingual household in the United States.

For me, the joy of teaching comes from seeing my students flourish in their own, unique way.

Using a mix of alternative pedagogical approaches, each child has the freedom to progress at his or her own rhythm. I have seen the importance of openness and empathy towards others in my experience as a teacher and I incorporate this in my teaching methods when working with children of all ages. I thrive in finding new ways to foster a sense of self-value and encourage a willingness to try new things. Providing children with the opportunity to expand their social and emotional development in a safe and open environment is paramount in helping them succeed.

"Creativity seems to emerge from multiple experiences, coupled with a well-supported development of personal resources, including a sense of freedom to venture beyond the unknown."
