Nos classes

Les classes de l'école M sont bilingues et multi-niveaux

Each class is multi-level and welcomes about twenty children, aged 2 and a half to 6 years old, supervised by 2 teachers: one teacher whose mother tongue is French and one teacher whose mother tongue is English.

Progressive welcome

8:30 a.m. - 9:00 a.m.

Progressive, personalized welcome (for the first arrivals, free play, drawing, reading...)

Grouping

9:00 am - 9:15 am

Gathering of all pupils for the start of the day (songs, rituals, body awareness...)

Classroom activities

9.15am - 11.45am

- One teacher offers workshops in small groups (5-6 students), working on fundamental skills related to the "theme" of the moment.
- The other teacher accompanies the children in independent activities or in pairs. Children choose their activity from among those on offer.
- All children take part in motor skills activities.

Mid-morning

Recess in the square near the school.
The morning ends with a huddle where pupils can talk about what they've done.

Meals

11.45 a.m. - 12.30 p.m.

- Lunch in the classroom in small groups, with both teachers. Students participate by setting the table. They wash their hands and sit down in mixed age groups. This encourages younger children to be more independent, and older children to help younger ones as needed.
- Mealtime is a time for relaxation and sharing. Students are encouraged to taste everything, but are not forced to eat. They clear up and help clean the room.

Siesta / Quiet time

12:30 p.m. - 1:45 p.m.

A la carte nap time for children who need it, with no age limit, and quiet activities for those who don't sleep.

Classroom activities

1.45pm - 3.40pm

- Classroom activities, accompanied by teachers. Pupils awakening from their nap join the group slowly, for independent or paired activities.
- Same organization as in the morning. As the afternoon is a low point in the children's attention spans, we propose consolidation rather than discovery activities.

Staggered departure

3:40pm - 4:00pm

Staggered departure of children who are not staying for after-school care. Teachers tell parents what has happened during the day.

Extracurricular activities and day care

16h - 18h

- Snack between 4pm and 4:40pm. The snack is balanced. Children help prepare, serve and clean up.
- Extracurricular activities from 4.40pm to 5.20pm (also on Wednesdays from 1.45pm to 4pm): games in workshops, artistic, cultural and sporting activities, etc.
- Free time from 5.20pm to 6pm.

Les repas

Children can have lunch at school, either by bringing their lunch basket or by choosing the meals offered by the school.

Prepared by our partner Ekilibre with a nutritionist specialising in young children, the meals offered by the school include 50% organic products. A vegetarian option will be available every day.

As the meal is an activity with a high pedagogical value, the children are supervised by the teachers in small groups, to preserve the concern for service and a warm atmosphere.

Children from families who wish to do so will also be able to have lunch outside the school.
