Our Classes

École M classes are bilingual and multi-grade

Each class is multi-level and welcomes around twenty children, aged from 2 and a half to 6 years old, supervised by 2 teachers: one native French-speaking teacher and one native English-speaking teacher.

The classroom environment at école M is bilingual French-English. Teachers work in reciprocal immersion, each speaking their mother tongue. Teaching activities take place in either French or English.

Staggered arrival

8:30 AM – 9:00 AM

Staggered and personalized arrival for children (for early arrivals, free play, drawing, reading...)

Group time

9:00 AM - 9:15 AM

Gathering of all students for the start of the day (songs, routines, movement activities...)

Classroom Activities

9:15 AM - 11:45 AM

• One teacher leads small group workshops (5-6 students) focusing on fundamental skills related to the current "theme".
• The other teacher supports children in independent or paired activities. Children choose their activity from the options provided.
• All children participate in a motor skills session.

Mid-morning

Recess in the park near the school.
The morning concludes with a group gathering where students can share what they did.

Meals

11:45 AM - 12:30 PM

• Lunch in classrooms in small groups, with both teachers present. Students participate by setting the table. They wash their hands and sit in mixed-age groups. This encourages younger children to be more independent and older children to help the younger ones as needed.
• Mealtime is a moment for relaxation and conversation. Students are encouraged to taste everything but are not forced to eat. They clear their plates and help clean the room.

Nap / Quiet Time

12:30 PM - 1:45 PM

Flexible nap time is offered for children who need it, with no age limit, and quiet activities are provided for those who do not nap.

Classroom Activities

1:45 PM - 3:40 PM

• Classroom activities, supervised by teachers. Students waking from their nap gently rejoin the group for independent or paired activities.
• The same organization as in the morning. As children's attention tends to wane in the afternoon, we offer consolidation activities rather than discovery-based ones.

Staggered Departure

3:40 PM - 4:00 PM

Staggered departure for children not staying for after-school care. Teachers inform parents about the day's events.

After-School Activities and Childcare

4:00 PM – 6:00 PM

• Snack time between 4:00 PM and 4:40 PM. The snack is balanced. Children participate in its preparation, serving, and clearing.
• After-school activities offered from 4:40 PM to 5:20 PM (also on Wednesdays from 1:45 PM to 4:00 PM): workshop games, artistic, cultural, sports activities...
• Free time from 5:20 PM to 6:00 PM.

Meals

Children can have lunch at school, either by bringing their own packed lunch or by choosing meals provided by the school.

Prepared by our partner Ekilibre with a nutritionist specializing in young children, the meals offered by the school include 50% organic products. A vegetarian option will be available daily.

As the meal is an activity with a high pedagogical value, the children are supervised by the teachers in small groups, to preserve the concern for service and a warm atmosphere.

Children from families who wish to do so may also have lunch outside of school.
