The M Paris 5ᵉ school 's pedagogical project is based on the program defined by the French Ministry of Education. It is implemented by applying the Montessori method.
Welcome the children progressively and personally, get them settled in for the school day and start the educational activities.
- Activity time, snack available (fruit).
- All children take part in a motor skills activity or an outing to the park in the square near the school.
- The morning ends with a regrouping during which pupils can talk about what they've done.
Lunch in the classroom in small groups, with both teachers. Students participate by setting the table. They wash their hands and sit down in mixed age groups. This encourages younger children to become more independent, and older children to help younger ones as needed.
The meal is a time for relaxation and sharing. Students are encouraged to try everything, but are not forced to eat. They clear up and help clean the room.
A la carte nap time for children who need it (staggered wake-up time), with no age limit, and quiet activities for those who don't sleep.
Classroom activities, accompanied by teachers. Pupils awakening from their nap join the group slowly, for independent or paired activities.
Same organization as in the morning. As the afternoon is a low point in the children's attention spans, we propose consolidation rather than discovery activities.
Staggered departure of children who are not staying for after-school care. Teachers tell parents what has happened during the day.
